This document will explain how to add a new Sub-Category to your website.

[edit] Requirements

  • An internet connection
  • You have your web administration panel address
  • Your username and password

[edit] Assumes

  • www.example.com is your website address

[edit] Instructions

  • Log-in to your InfernoCMS administration panel
  • Click on Categories
  • Click on the Category you wish to add a Sub-Category to
  • Click on Add a Sub-Category
  • Populate the Sub-Category detail fields accordingly
    • Overview Title - This is the title for the category. Keep this short and to the point
    • Parent Category - This should not be set to "No Parent (A Head)". Otherwise it will become a Category.,
    • Sub-Category Description - This description field is used to explain to your website visitors what this Sub-Category will be about. This can be as much as you like, or can be used as the main text on a Sub-Category. If you do not need to add Articles, then use this as the Body text for your Sub-Category.
    • Related Image - Choose an image to associate with this Sub-Category. This image must be already uploaded.
    • Sort Order - If you wish to re-arrange the order of the Sub-Categories, then use this to select a new order
    • Inactive - Use this to deactivate any Sub-Categories on the site. This can be exceptionally useful for seasonal offers or just if you wish to temporarily remove a Sub-Category
    • Over-ride URL - Using this InfernoCMS can be passively connected to additional websites and installed applications. For instance if you wish to link to wiki or specific URL then use this. Eg http://www.example.com/another/application/forum.php
  • Click on Add Sub-Category to complete this process
