An article is a piece of content that is stored in a Sub-Category . Each Sub-Category can store multiple Articles and they are the core element to your website.

Editing an Article is one of the more complicated sections of the WebAdmin console. Don't let this scare you, this is just due to the amount of information that InfernoCMS needs. The more you fill in, the more it will help with Search Engine Optimisation. Below is a breakdown of the separate pages, and what each field expects and how it uses it.

Adding an Article: The Main Page

This is what we call the Main Page, this is the basic information that is required to create a new Article. This information is used when InfernoCMS generates links to the Article.

  • Category - This drop down box allows you to choose where this Article will be located on the site. This can only
  • Title - This is the Article title explaining what this page is about. Use of search engine keywords is vitally important here as InfernoCMS presents this information to the major search engines as they require them.
  • Related Image - Each Article can have a related image that helps visualise what the page is about. This can be from any of the active Image Galleries that have been uploaded to the site. This is optional.
  • Related Gallery - If required, an associated Image Gallery can be connected to an Article
  • Description - This is seen as a teaser paragraph enticing the reader to click and read more. Ensuring that you have considered website keywords when entering this information will help with search engine ranking.
  • Body - This is the core of the page. This

Adding an Article: The See Also

This section deals with Articles that you feel are related to this one. For instance is this part of a series, a walk through guide or just marginally related to a few other stories on your site. This list can be unlimited, and to start with, the editor gives you five choices drop down boxes to fill in. Saving this page will give you another five drop down boxes to populate.
